Welcome to IKHAYA MOUNTAIN LODGE
We are a self catering accommodation situated on a working horse & crob farm, located on a calm cull de sac road close to Bell Park dam and the Culfargie National Park entrance gate. (D 53)The historical Bergvlei farm was build by Irish settlers from Galway in 1850. Their beautiful grave yard site can still be visited.
The Farm is bordering the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage site which is one of South Africa's most outstanding attractions that draws thousands of visitors annually to its scenic beauty, crisp mountain air and cristal clear rivers.

Selfcatering units on our farm in the middle of the Champagne Valley, Central Drakensberg, only a few kilometres from the Okhahlamba National Park, near Bellparkdam.

Weather conditions
In summer ( november - march) it is mostly hot with afternoon thunderstorms from time to time. The temperature never drops below 10° at night and during the day it ranges between 15° & 32°. In winter ( june - september) it is dry with day temperatures between 8 ° & 20 °, and on the farm the temperature will seldom go below 0° C at night. Weather forecast of the area on the link below.
